New minimum wage gazetted
PRETORIA: The minimum wage in the hospitality sector has been increased from 1 July 2014. The new wage adjustments will be applicable until 30 June 2015. The Labour Department explained that in terms of the sectoral determination - which prescribes minimum wage rates and conditions of employment in the sector - the new rate increases are demarcated into two categories.. NYCTP graduates
Once again we are assisting SACA to find employment for the chefs who have achieved  their Professional Chefs Diploma on this highly practically based course. They are available for employment countrywide. Most of them are at commis or junior chef de partie level but some have excelled in their training and could take on a chef de partie role in a  smaller environment. Their experience varies from opportunities in 5* hotel kitchens, smaller hotels, lodges, restaurants  and high volume staff kitchens, and many have had different kitchen environments to work in during their 2 years training. The fee for recruiting one of these chefs is a fixed fee of R1500.

Many of these young chefs are employable from  the minimum wage (approx. R2700 per month) and above. They all get assessed as to the level they should be employed in, reference checked etc. Contact your local  Hotelstaff Office for further information and suitable cvs.
